My Change in Lifestyle

I have spent much of my life living in the shadow of other people. Sure to the outside world I am the “put together”, strong, independent woman with success as her husband and intelligence as her lover, but beneath the layers of confidence and zeal, I am simply a single, 26-year old teacher acutely aware of people’s opinion. And I can’t seem to shut them out. Every decision I make feels controlled by some outsider whose opinion matters no more than my own, yet I still manage to give them that power. I know this sounds odd—and perhaps it is—but switching to a vegetarian lifestyle has helped me manifest to the world that I am something I want to be, not what others believe I should be. So this it! This is my experiment! I am going to be a vegetarian for a minimum of 365 days—an experiment to show the world, show my world, that I make decisions that will benefit me and only me! Let’s begin!
